About us

LottaTots Daycare bridges over 10 years of exceptional experience in Family Child Care to the community of Sherborn, MA. As an EEC licensed home daycare, its certified staff continues providing children 3 months to 5 years of age a caring, stimulating and thriving learning environment through a variety of learning centers with a focus on Literacy, Math & Science as well as the Arts, allowing children to explore the sensory world at their own pace with trusting guidance.

At LottaTots Daycare, we balance the comfort of a home environment and an enriching learning setting through a flexible, bilingual curriculum that motivates your curious child to learn every day while intuitively gaining dual language mastery. Engaging young children in an oral English-Portuguese curriculum fosters positive socio-cultural and linguistic skills essential for interpersonal, lifelong relationships and future opportunities.

Further enhancing fine and gross motor skills development, daily physical and creative activities, oral instructions, social interactions, storytelling, center visits, and songs are integrated seamlessly in both languages. In a nutshell, our curriculum is SCREEN-FREE, PLAY FOCUSED!  We prioritize genuine social connection, active cognitive development and imagination without digital, electronic distraction.

While academic readiness is a vital cornerstone of our program, we aim to cultivate the whole child. Beyond teaching letters, numbers, and language skills, we are deeply committed to instilling the foundational values, emotional intelligence, and life principles that will guide them long after they leave our care.

Our program beautifully balances cognitive development with character building. We deliberately weave essential life principles into our daily routines, group play, and interactions:

  •  Academic Excellence through Play: We spark natural curiosity and early cognitive growth through an engaging, hands-on bilingual curriculum. We lay a strong foundation for literacy, problem-solving, and critical thinking.
  •  Kindness & Empathy: We teach children to understand and share the feelings of others. Through gentle guidance and community-minded play, they learn the joy of sharing, helping a friend, and treating everyone with respect.
  •  Resilience & Perseverance: Success in life requires the ability to bounce back. We encourage children to try new things, embrace mistakes as learning opportunities, and keep trying when a puzzle or a skill feels challenging.
  •  Responsibility & Independence: Even our littlest learners thrive when given a sense of ownership. We foster independence by encouraging children to complete daily tasks, take care of their belongings, and understand the impact of their choices on the group.
  •  Cooperation & Community: In our home-away-from-home setting, children learn the value of collaboration, compromise, and celebrating each other's successes. We play together, learn together, grow together, and thrive together!

Every interaction at LottaTots Together is an opportunity to build a strong moral compass. By combining a rich, educational environment with a warm, values-driven family atmosphere, we ensure that our children step into the world not just as bright students, but as confident, compassionate, and principled individuals ready to succeed in life

Provider’s Biography

19-As an experienced, licensed Family Child Care provider for over 10 years in Metrowest Massachusetts, Meiriele Rodrigues first showed interest in Early Childhood Education during her senior year at Framingham High School where she was awarded “Student of the Term” in the Infant and Toddler Program in 2012-2013. The Department Chair Elen Makynen had these words to say: “…Meiriele has become a top notch addition to the Infant Toddler Program because of her efficient, warm, loving way with the children. She knows and senses what the children need….”.

Upon her high school graduation, Meiriele accepted a position as a Family Daycare assistant in a licensed, bilingual English-Portuguese family daycare named Vovo’s Daycare in Framingham, Massachusetts. One year later, she seized the opportunity to become the licensed owner-provider of this program that operated for nine consecutive years until the start of Covid in 2019. Forced to shut down due to the pandemic, Meiriele continued her studies at Framingham State University graduating Summa Cum Laude with an English major and Psychology minor Bachelor of Arts Degree in May, 2024. During the closure years of the previous childcare business, Meiriele continued providing community service in the children’s ministry at her local church, as well as caring for her three children. Presently, as she embarks on this new journey at LottaTots Daycare as the owner-provider, Meiriele is acquiring additional, advanced coursework-based knowledge in Early Childhood Education to better serve all children and their families.
